Position: Direct a robot
This week we are learning all about Position in Maths. We have been working on using grid-referenced maps, using directional language, following sequences of directions, and using compass directions. Here is a game that we have been playing in class, Direct a Robot – the aim is to design a route for a robot to collect all the materials it needs on its mission and find its way back to its home base before running out of fuel. You can play online by clicking here. Bonus challenge – take a screen shot (Print Screen) of your route after you have completed it and post it to your blog for me to see (save as a picture file, such as a jpeg, first).
Maths: 2D Space – Triangles
This week in Maths we are looking at the properties of triangles and quadrilaterals. Here is a fun game where you can locate and destroy triangles based on their classification: isosceles, equilateral, and scalene.
