Musica Viva!

Today we had a wonderful visit from Mara! We sang and danced along to a variety of songs and were introduced to some beautiful instruments. Thank you so much to the P&C for this fantastic opportunity for our students through Musica Viva. Thank you to Miss Hibbert for teaching and preparing our students with music and lyrics to this fantastic folk music from around the world!

Well done to our Stage 3 students who participated in the Spelling Bee today! Congratulations to Dexter (1st place), Chelsea (2nd place), and Emma and Noah (equal 3rd place). Dexter and Chelsea will compete in the Regional Spelling Bee!

Speak Off!

Congratulations to all our amazing speakers who presented their speeches today at our annual Speak Off Competition. We heard about a variety of topics, including cockroaches, pet peeves, apples, magic, grandparents and technology, younger siblings, Australian stereotypes and many more! The audience was entertained and in fits of laughter. What a talented bunch of speakers we were blessed to listen to today. A special congratulations to our winners, Nikolai and Seb in Stage 3. Our winners will present their speeches and compete at the Hunter Interschools Public Speaking Competition. Well done, everybody!

Easter Hat Parade 2018

Thank you to all our Tighes Hill PS friends and families who joined us to celebrate at our annual Easter Hat Parade. There were so many adorable and amazing hat designs and we were delighted with our junior performances. Thank you for all the generous donations to our Easter Raffle and congratulations to all the prize winners! A huge thank you to Ms Armstrong and Mrs Derricott for their organisation! Please enjoy the videos and photos below.

Harmony Day

While the weather wasn’t exactly harmonious today, our students had a wonderful time celebrating Harmony Day. It was lovely to see so many orange and cultural dress outfits at Tighes Hill today! Students worked together to create beautiful worry dolls and rock art that represent each of their individual identities and cultures. A huge thank you to our generous families who brought in food to share and to our wonderful family helpers who assisted in serving food at lunch.

Year 6 Farewell

Tonight we had a fabulous send-off for our graduating class of 2017! It was a bittersweet evening as we are sad to say goodbye to our kids, but we are so excited for what is ahead of them. We are so proud of each and every one of you and wish you all the best for high school and beyond. Have a look through the memories of our Year 6 students and photos from the farewell below.
