SRC Movie Character Disco

A huge thank you to all our movie characters who came along and boogied at the SRC Disco tonight! What an awesome night! DJ Mixalot Skyped me afterwards and said she was chuffed with the costumes and dance moves of our THPS groovers. Check out the photos from our fun night below:

Just a phase… of the Moon!

It has been wonderful to see how engaged 6B are with our Science unit this term, the Solar System and Space. Last week we learnt all about the phases of the moon and what better way to do that then with Oreos. Firstly, the students drew the phases of the moon onto their template, then used craft sticks to arrange the cream in the middle of Oreo cookies to match their diagrams. What did I learn from this lesson? Never underestimate the power of a cookie. Everyone was so focused and finished the task in what must be record time (the deal was you had to complete it before eating the cookies)! I hope you enjoy these photos as much as 6B enjoyed eating Ore- I mean, learning about the phases of the moon.

We had lots of fun playing bubble soccer, exploring Inflatable World, and jumping on all the different trampolines. Congratulations and well done to Stage 3 on their brilliant behaviour yesterday. Here are some photos from all the fun:

Science & Engineering Challenge

Yesterday, 5B had fun completing some Science & Engineering challenges using small cups, tiny wooden blocks, and paddle pop sticks. The activities can be found at this parenting blog here. There was a lot of creative thinking happening and it was fascinating to see the different solutions and designs that the kids came up with!
