Cardboard City Creations

This term in Art Cave Stage 3 have been working on their own cardboard city creations. We started by looking at the works of Ana Serrano – http://www.anaserrano.com/index.php?/work/buildings-2/ – and then choosing our own shops and structures within cities that we could construct using recyclable materials. Thank you to our wonderful resident artist, Jane, and to Alex, for their efforts and creativity. It is wonderful to work on such large scale projects such as Cardboard City and it would not be possible without their efforts. Have a look at the slideshow of images from our creations below.

Art Cave: Microorganisms

This term in Art Cave, Stage 3 are exploring different art techniques to create works based on our Science topic of microorganisms. We met with Jane and Thuy on Friday to create microbial masterpieces using watercolours applied with brush techniques and blowing through straws. Afterwards, we took our artworks outside and added ink and salt to them to create more texture in the artworks. It was fantastic to see all the different interpretations of microbes created by 5B. Art Cave Supplies

Hey, guys! Our Art Cave volunteer artist, Jane, has asked if we can collect and bring in the following items from home:

Bottle caps – any size, any colour! These will be used for a special installation later this term for Harmony Day. We need lots, so start collecting and store them in a bucket in your classroom.

Old t-shirts to be used as paint shirts – the bigger the better!

Thank you 😀
